What you need to know up front
- Assignment deadlines: All coursework is due on Thursday unless otherwise specified. Deadlines stay the same even if a class is missed, so be sure to check Canvas each week and plan ahead. If you're unsure about an upcoming due date, just ask, that’s what we’re here for.
- Deadline extensions: Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. To be considered, you must contact me no later than Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. prior to the assignment’s due date.
- Late work penalties: Point reductions for late work are listed on each assignment rubric in Canvas. Always check the rubric before submitting late.
- Attendance: Most class sessions include hands-on activities that must be completed on your assigned classroom computer. Attendance is important for your success. If you miss class for any reason, plan to come during tutoring/open lab hours to complete the missed work.
- Academic integrity: It’s always okay to ask for help from your colleagues understanding a concept, that’s encouraged. But complete your own work on graded assignments unless collaboration is explicitly allowed. Do not share files, copy work, or submit anything that isn’t yours.
- Accessibility & accommodations: If you’re already using accommodations — or even just wondering whether you might need them — NLC Disability Support Services (SAS) is the best place to start. After you connect with them, let me know so I can support you and make the course work well for you.
Support & Resources
